Note:

We highly recommend getting a rental car to provide increased flexibility getting around the area of the wedding venue. Taxi companies in the area require pre-booking for a ride at a specified time, and prices may be inflated (ie, 40 euros to travel between Riaza or Hotel Mirasierra and the wedding venue). Availability is also limited. Please reach out to us if you want help pre-booking taxi rides or coordinating possible carpooling.

Air Travel

For our guests traveling internationally, we recommend flying into the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), which is about an hour drive from the venue.

Car Rental

We wanted the weekend to be a relaxing rural getaway, so unfortunately, public transportation to the area of the venue is relatively limited. We recommend renting a car at the Madrid-Barajas airport - this allows you to avoid driving in the Madrid city center itself, which can be crowded. Automatic car rentals should be readily available. Car rentals are also available from most of the Madrid train stations, if you're arriving by train from another city.

You are required to carry an International Driver's Permit along with your US driver's license while driving a car in Spain. You can get an IDP at your local AAA branch for around $20 - you don't need to be a AAA member.

There is ample parking at the wedding venue, and we expect parking to be straightforward at other places in the area.

Renting a car will also allow you to explore some of the destinations in the area surrounding the venue, like Segovia or Pedraza, and will give you more flexibility.

Other Transportation Options

If you prefer not to rent a car, an Uber or taxi from the airport will run you about $150 for a standard four-person car. You can return to the Madrid area by taxi, but these rides will need to be pre-booked ahead of time. See taxi company information below, and please reach out if you'd like our help coordinating a taxi ride.

The best public transportation option is the bus from Madrid (Av. America station) to Riaza (local town with hotel options, ten minutes from the venue) - this is a 1hr45min bus ride, leaving once a day on weekends and twice a day on weekdays. Tickets can be purchased at alsa.com. If you're staying at the Hotel Mirasierra, you can take the same bus and get off at the Santo Tome del Puerto stop. We recommend booking your bus tickets ahead of time.

If you're worried about logistics of traveling to the area, feel free to reach out to us and we can help you make arrangements or connect you to someone else arriving at a similar time!
